My current work comes from interactions with space, referencing outdoor advertising and exploration of landscapes. This work focuses on the spatial relations of place and mind, exploring phenomenological concepts of space through color, light and formal elements that depict illusionary space or pictorial space.

The idea of exploration has many facets and is expressed with a consideration of how light can affect experience. The creative process in which the work is produced draws upon a childlike curiosity of the world. The resulting art work is a display of stylized abstract landscapes, often simplified to represent the behavior of different spatial relationships.

I think about the perception of space and how it can be constructed, through maps, self-constructed forts, childhood dens, wilderness experiences. The enthusiasm of landscape is an appreciation of a space where the mind can rest, escape, explore and reflect.
